  1. President new account Twitter broke a world record:
    American President Obama is officially on new Twitter account @POTUS. Through this account, he got a new way to address the people of America. The important part of the news is his account has reached more than a million followers in just 5 hours.

    His name is entered in Guinness Book of World Record. The last record was beaten up by Iron Man star Robert Downey in April 2014. In 23 hours and 22 minutes, he followed by millions of people.
  2. Draupadi appointed as Jharkhand’s first woman Governor:
    Draupadi Murmu appointed as Jharkhand’s first woman Governor succeeding Syed Ahmed. Syed Ahmed is transferred to Manipur and takes over the same charge there.

    Murmu was heading a ministry under the Naveen Patnaik cabinet when Biju Janata Dal ruling party was persisted in the back of BJP. Jharkhand High Court Chief Justice Virendra Singh gave the oath of Governor to Murmu.
  3. Laszlo Krasznahorkai won Man Booker International Prize 2015:
    Laszlo Krasznahorkai won the ‘Man Booker International Prize 2015’ for his novels Satantago(1985) and The Melancholy of Resistance(1989). These novels have come into limelight when director Bela Tarr changed it into reel life. Laszlo got 60,000 pounds as prize money.

    About Man Booker International Prize: The Prize is specified to give reward to the living person who has gained tremendous fame for his work in fiction. The published fiction must be in English or available in translation in English.
  4. IMD signed MOU with POSOCO
    India Meteorological Department (IMD) under the Ministry of Earth Sciences has signed an agreement with Power System Operation Corporation Limited (POSOCO), subsidiary of PGCIL for the purpose of finest utilization of weather information and forecast in the power sector.

    The agreement came into emergence due to the over energy utilization in all fields, especially in the weather forecasting sector. As to pave the power sector way with benefits and enhancement and make them weatherproof this agreement penned down.
  5. President inaugurates Golden jubilee for India’s first expedition to Mt Everest:

    President Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated Golden jubilee celebration for surviving members of India’s first successful expedition to Mt. Everest. In 1965, India's first time scaled Mt. Everest, some members clinch the victory but some fail too. At the celebration, PM Modi met the family of the deceased fellows of the expedition.

    Col. N Kumar, Captain M. S. Kohli, Shri Gurdial Singh, Shri Sonam Wangyal, Maj H P S Ahluwalia, Shri C P Vohra, Brig Mulk Raj, Shri G S Bhangu, and Dr. Lala Telang are the surviving members who were invited on this celebration.

    During this occasion, PM also released the book, “The Great Himalayan Climb”.
